The Fine Print

To be considered for Foster Care you must meet the following:

  •   Be at least 21 years of age
  •   Have legal identification with current address (we will confirm)
  •   LDRNM has the right to refuse any person at any time
  •   LDRNM information is entered into a system requiring the use of a computer/device printer


Major responsibilities of LDRNM fosters:

  1. Pickup foster dog based on pre-planned arrangements
  2. Make appointment at one of our sponsored vet clinics and take dog for vetting
  3. Take pictures of the foster dog and write up biography for posting on adoption page
  4. Screen and review all applications for your foster
  5. Call to set up appropriate home visits. Determine which applicant/family to whom your dog goes 
  6. Notify all applicants once your dog gets adopted, letting them know the status and if you can help them find their special dog
  7. Followup with the family who adopts the dog to ensure everyone is adjusting well 
  8. Take your foster(s) to adoptathon events, which generally occur once a month on a Saturday from 11-3pm 

LDRNM pays for:

  1. All medical expenses including visits and any required medications
  2. Can pay for food, if needed
  3. Supplies collars, leashes, belly bands and sometimes harnesses (if available)
  4. Can supply one dog crate, if needed

LDRNM CANNOT GUARANTEE THE HEALTH, TEMPERAMENT, OR TRAINING OF THE DOG. LDRNM DOES NOT KNOW THE COMPLETE HISTORY OF ANY FOSTER DOG AND THUS OFFERS NO WARRANTY OR REPRESENTATION OF ANY KIND REGARDING THE HEALTH OR DISPOSITION. THE FOSTER PARTY AGREES TO RELEASE LDRNM OF ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY HAZARD OR DAMAGE IT MAY PRESENT TO ADULTS, CHILDREN, OTHER ANIMALS OR PROPERTY ONCE THE DOG IS IN HIS/HER POSSESSION.
